Broker Lockbox ("we," "our," or "us") — business name: BrokerLockbox — operates BrokerLockbox.com and the Broker Lockbox application. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Broker Lockbox, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect
Account data
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, company name, and password (hashed). If you sign up via OAuth, we receive a token and your email from that provider.
Billing data
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. We receive and store your subscription status, plan name, Stripe customer ID, and billing history so we can manage your account.
Uploaded documents
You may upload freight documents including rate confirmations, bills of lading (BOLs), carrier packets, W-9s, insurance certificates, invoices, and proofs of delivery (PODs). These files are stored in your Vault and are processed only to provide the service features you request.
Vault storage
Files you store in your Vault are retained on your behalf. We do not read, analyze, sell, or use your documents for any purpose other than storing and retrieving them for you.
Email and SMS delivery
When you send documents or messages through the platform, we collect recipient addresses, message content, and delivery status. SMS delivery is handled via Telnyx; email delivery is handled via our transactional email provider (Resend).
SMS communications
When you provide a mobile phone number and consent to SMS communications, we may send you transactional SMS messages including document signing requests, driver tracking links, and account notifications. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. Mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS consent is not a condition of service.
Driver tracking data
If you use driver tracking features, we collect location data submitted through the platform for the purpose of providing load tracking visibility. Location data is not shared outside your account.
Support data
If you contact us for support, we collect your name, email, and the content of your message.
Analytics and logs
We collect standard server logs (IP addresses, user agent, timestamps, pages visited) and may use analytics tools to understand how the product is used. This data is used to improve the service, diagnose errors, and detect abuse.
2. How We Use Your Data

- To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
- To deliver documents, emails, and SMS messages you initiate
- To store and retrieve your Vault files
- To provide driver tracking visibility within your account

- To send transactional emails related to your account (billing, password reset, notifications)
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your data. We do not use your documents or data to train AI or machine learning models.
3. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Vault files are retained until you delete them or until your account is closed. Upon account deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or compliance purposes.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing [email protected].
Data export or deletion requests: To request export or deletion of your data, email [email protected] with subject "Data Request". We will respond within 30 days.
Breach notification: In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, as required by applicable law.
4. Your Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Portability: Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format

- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS)
- Files stored in Vault are encrypted at rest
- Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe and never stored on our servers
- Access to your account is protected by your credentials

7. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, and analytics. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling cookies may affect functionality.
8. Children's Privacy
Broker Lockbox is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
9. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising under this policy will be resolved in accordance with applicable US law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
